William F. Detwiler

Sr. Managing Director & Co-Head of Consumer, Retail & Healthcare Investment Banking

Bill Detwiler is a Senior Managing Director & Co-Head of Consumer, Retail & Healthcare Investment Banking at FBR.  

Prior to joining FBR in August 2009, Mr. Detwiler was a Co-Founder, Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Watch Hill Partners LLC where he led a team in strategic M&A, corporate finance, restructuring and capital raising advisory services.

Before starting Watch Hill Partners in 2003, Mr. Detwiler was a corporate attorney with the law firm of Herrick, Feinstein LLP specializing in M&A, corporate finance and securities transactions for clients in a broad range of industries.  Earlier in his legal career, he served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Malcolm Muir.  Prior to law school, Mr. Detwiler was a corporate finance analyst with Barclays Bank and an associate at Price Waterhouse.

Mr. Detwiler received his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of the Villanova Law Review.  He also received a Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity College and a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Hartford.  Mr. Detwiler formerly served as a member of the Board of Trustees of South Kent School, and is currently a member of the Board of Fellows at Trinity College.
